Jen's Classic Maternity Shoot | Maternity Photographer, Pulaski, NY

Saturday, March 31, 2012

First of all... I just have to say that I LOVE Jen for letting me do what I want with her maternity photos!! I am not one of those women into pregnant bellies, or anything typical for maternity shoots. Not that I have anything against it, it's just not my thing. I prefer pregnant women with their clothes on and giving maternity photos a classy, timeless look. Jen's shoot came out EXACTLY how I envisioned... even better actually!!

Jen got her hair and makeup done by my sister, owner and stylist of Backwoods Beauty Salon in Richland, NY. She brought half of her wardrobe to the shoot so we had fun mixing and matching her outfits! The weather was pretty cold, so we did most of the photos inside, but then we ran outside for some quick field shots which are always my favorite. For being due in a month and a half, she looks pretty amazing!!

Winter Hike Engagement Session | Engagement Photographer, Central NY

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

My friend, (who asked to remain nameless), had me meet her and her fiance at their property one gorgeous winter afternoon! We took a walk on a trail in the woods, stopped in a sunlit field, went down by the river, and then ended up in front of their huge wooden barn. They brought along their dog, which of course, made the photos even that much better!!

Cozy Cabin Engagement | Engagement Photographer, 1,000 Islands, NY

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Seriously I don't even know where to start... these photos are just amazing. I say this alot haha, but there is just something about this engagement session that makes me soooooo happy that I chose to learn photography. I enjoy photographing children, families, weddings, etc... but my FAVORITE things to photograph are engagement sessions! I love to tell stories and since no one will ever dress in costume for me, engagements are the next best thing!

Now if you know me, you know I'm not exactly romantic. I prefer sarcasm to show off my love of others, and I loathe people who hold hands in public because it gives my husband the impression that hand holding is acceptable behavior, and I beg to differ. So oddly enough, I LOVE capturing romance and REAL pure love with my camera. Since my faith in God is the number one most important part of my life, photographing couples who also have that faith in God is even more inspiring.

That being said, I introduce you to Faith (perfect name for this post haha) and Christopher! Faith is in my girls' Bible study, and I love her because she is so much like me (except for the non-romantic gene obviously), and she is so much fun to be around. She has known Christopher for most of her life, and after many failed attempts at a long distance relationship throughout their adolescent life, they finally reconnected! I don't even think I have to tell any more of the story, you can obviously see their passion and love for each other in these photos.

We drove all over the 1,000 islands region to get these photos, and I could have continued all night! I might have went a little overboard with the number of photos I took but it was so worth it! We started at a friend's property with a cozy little cabin, then got into the Christmas spirit (yes this blog post is way overdue... typical), and ended up at Monaghan's Irish Pub in Clayton to celebrate their Irish heritage and to continue with a cozy, intimate setting. The owner of Monaghan's was super hospitable to us and let us take over his pub for some more great photos!

Ok I'm done talking. I hope you fall as in love with these photos as I have!
