Fall Backwoods Beauty: Autumn | Portrait Photographer, Oswego County, NY

Thursday, January 19, 2012

I am beyond excited to finally show off this session from last fall!!!!!!! Autumn is my favorite person to photograph (as you've probably figured out by now haha). We grew up together playing dress up, dancing around and being crazy - so it's no surprise that not much has changed. Autumn told me she wanted to do a fun "high fashion" fall shoot. My sister (owner of Backwoods Beauty Salon in Richland, NY) made Autumn's super fabulous head piece, Autumn found her dress at the Rescue Mission for $8, I set up the props and my sister did her hair and make up... and a Backwoods Beauty was born!

Autumn booked this session just for fun, because who doesn't secretly want super awesome photos of themselves!! I've said this before and I'll say it again... you don't need to wait for a fiance, kids, or a special occasion to have yourself photographed! You only live once! So get dressed up and book a fun Backwoods Beauty session like this one! The cost is my regular session price, along with $50 for professional hair and makeup done by my awesome sister.

Ok I'm done babbling ... let's get on with the photos!!

Aaron & Brandi's Outdoor Wedding | Wedding Photographer, Pulaski, NY

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

After WAY too long... I finally have this amazing wedding blogged. Brandi is a superhero because she pulled this wedding off in a MONTH. Yes I wrote that correctly... a MONTH. Aaron proposed to Brandi and then got a job in Colorado, so they wanted to have the wedding before they moved. Brandi has been my next door neighbor for years, so she literally just walked across the road one day to ask me to photograph her wedding :)

The wedding took place at her parents' home (This time it was me who just had to walk across the road haha). The ceremony was held behind their house overlooking fields and forests. Brandi's first surprise for her guests was arriving by an Amish horse and buggy. We weren't allowed to take photos while she arrived, so you'll have to use your imagination, but all of the guests were truly in awe when Brandi came around the corner! The reception was in their huge walk-in basement and outside under a tent. It was a relaxing reception with great food, drinks, and music - but not your typical band or DJ. Aaron, Brandi and some of Aaron's family surprised the guests with a performance outside while the sun set. It was amazing. I hope my photos can even show off a glimpse of how breathtaking this wedding was!
